Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s Novelletten, Op 52 is a set of four short movements written for string orchestra, tambourine, and triangle. Coleridge-Taylor, a gifted violinist, wrote the four Novelletten in 1901 and 1902 using lush, romantic sentimentality mixed with turn of the 20th century harmony.
